Hey Ashely,

Again... thanks for all your help navigating Hwood. I see a lot of sites for the 'scriptexpress service', 'equery online', 'scriptblaster' and 'virtual pitchfest'. I was doing some research and stumbled upon equery online, which has a lot of message board warnings that it's a scam. They can't all be... I hope.

Christopher;

I have not used any of the e-query services myself, mainly because from what I can gather all they do is exactly what I've told you to do here which is get the data from the HCD and blast to it. If you know of some let me know. I'll be happy to investigate a bit and see if I can find out more about them.

Thanks for taking the time to put this information together for screenwriters struggling to get their breaks. How do you feel about the e-query services? Are they effective and do you recommend any one in particular?

Thanks again!

Thanks for all the information! I have read books pertaining to this that were not as clear. Time to shell out some more money for that HCD license! Lol. Thanks!

Eric;

I never thought of that. I'm a big believer in trying things out and seeing if they work. Measure the results carefully and then act accordingly. If you're going to do a sample 100 letters it might be nice to try it out both ways. Send 100 letters out with a more personalized letter that includes the company's name in the body and send out 100 letters without.

I certainly think anything you can do to personalize the letter would help the response rate.

If you try it let me know or post a comment here. I'd be curious to know what you find out.

This is a fantastic post. I especially like how you break down the numbers into percentages.

Do you think modifying the letter to include the company's name in the body of the letter is worth the time/effort?
