I went to a seminar with Jeffry Gordon a few years ago and he’s analyzed screenwriting about as much as you can and has lots of wisdom to share.

He runs the Writer’s Boot Camp which is a pretty high end package. I’m guessing he’ll pitch his service at the end of the seminar. At the seminar I went to he pitched his Boot Camp service but there was no hard sell and it was easy to excuse yourself if you weren’t interested (which is what I did).

If you’re in the Santa Monica area and are interested in television writing I highly recommend that you attend. It will be well worth your time.

Make sure you leave yourself plenty of time to find the location because it’s a little tricky finding the place.

Here’s the email that I got:

Alumni of Writers Boot Camp, now in its 20th year, have created or been staffed on more than 80 different TV shows, from Dora the Explorer to Burn Notice, as well as Lost, The Office, Weeds, Mad Men, Entourage, Life on Mars, Sex and The City, Castle, Everybody Loves Raymond, Law & Order, Private Practice, The Cleaner, and Californication to name a few.

Writers Boot Camp alumni have won and been nominated for Emmys, Golden Globes, Academy Awards, and the TONY award – one of our alumni was even nominated for the very first Emmy for webisodic content.
