Screenplays often live or die in the second act. Writers often start a script with a clear idea about how it should end. And many times writers have a clear vision for the setup and how the screenplay should start. But the second act, the 60 page slough that ties the ending and beginning together, can often fall flat and completely derail a screenplay. It doesn’t matter how good your setup or ending is, if the second act doesn’t work, the script is dead on arrival.

Being able to write a complete, compelling second act is often what separates the amateur screenwriter from the professional who makes his living writing.

In the ninth Selling Your Screenplay Online Class I am going to teach writers how to successfully get through the second act and keep readers reading.

This class will be taught by me, Ashley Scott Meyers. I’m an actual screenwriter with real screenwriting credits, not a “guru” or “screenwriting teacher.”

In this class I will be examining the second acts of several very successful movies including The Wizard of Oz, Legally Blonde and Back to the Future.

In this ninth online class you will learn…

  • You will learn the fundamentals of what a second act needs to do.
  • You will learn how to properly structure your second act.
  • You will learn how to choose projects that have a lot of second act potential.
  • You will learn several of the tricks I use to make sure my second act keeps the reader turning pages.
  • You will learn why some second acts work so well by examining a few successful screenplays with outstanding second acts.

You should take this class if…
